Yankees Trade For Some Scrub Prospect
Photo: Mike McGinnis/ [object Object] The New York Yankees acquired Texas Rangers prospect Russell Wilson for “future considerations” today. Wilson has long wanted to be a Yankee, per ESPN, and the two organizations got the trade done to accommodate Wilson’s wishes.
The Rockies initially drafted Wilson in the fourth round of the 2010 draft, and he has a .229 batting average in 315 at-bats for various single-A Rockies affiliates. He moved to the Rangers in the 2013 Rule 5 Draft, and has attended a few Spring Training outings. “I will forever be grateful to be a part of a world class organization like the Texas Rangers,” Wilson said in a statement.
According to reports, Wilson also plays in the NFL.
