Yankees Comprehensively Owned By Blue Jays Infielder

Blue Jays infielder Ryan Goins is almost certainly never going to have a better day as a professional baseball player than the one he had Friday night, at the expense of the Yankees.

With the score tied in the top of the third inning, Yankees third baseman Todd Frazier doubled to right field. A couple batters later, with Frazier still on second, Goins got him for the final out of the inning with the classy old hidden ball trick:

But was Goins satisfied having stolen the spark from Todd Frazier’s eyes once and for all? No sir. In the bottom of the sixth inning, with the Blue Jays up 4-1, the normally light-hitting (career .330 slugging) Goins launched an 0-2 slider from Masahiro Tanaka into the night sky for a grand slam:

New York’s loss brought the Red Sox magic number to clinch the AL East to six games.
