Report: Yadier Molina Will Be Fined, Not Suspended, For Pushing Umpire
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina will be fined, but not suspended, for pushing an umpire in Game 1 of the Cardinals series against the Dodgers, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. Leading off the bottom of the third inning, Yasiel Puig was nailed in the back by Adam Wainright. Adrian Gonzalez took exception to the pitch and voiced his displeasure to Molina. Home plate ump Jerry Meals got in-between the two to separate them, and Molina pushed him in the back while trying to get at Gonzalez. The benches cleared, but it was nothing more than a skirmish.
In a slightly confusing use of a double negative, Heyman reports that while the amount of the fine is unknown, "isn't insignificant."
