Women's Top 25 roundup: No. 9 Oklahoma cruises to school scoring record

No. 9 Oklahoma broke the school scoring record and tied another with a 122-56 romp against Western Carolina on Wednesday afternoon in Norman, Okla.
A steal and a layup by Caya Smith with 1:46 remaining provided the final points for the Sooners (3-0) and surpassed the OU single-game record of 121 points set in 2008.
Raegan Beers led Oklahoma with 27 points on 12-of-14 shooting and nine rebounds. Tyja Beans had 16 points as the only player in double figures for the Catamounts (3-1).
The Sooners also tied the school record with 30 assists in the victory.
No. 4 Texas 95, Lamar 58
Justice Carlton and Shay Holle scored 15 points apiece as the Longhorns routed the Cardinals at Austin, Texas.
Jordan Lee scored 12 points for Texas (2-0) while filling in for star Madison Booker (hamstring). The Longhorns led 51-14 at halftime.
Akasha Davis scored 14 points for Lamar (1-1), which committed 28 turnovers. Sabria Dean had 13 points.
No. 6 Notre Dame 92, James Madison 46
Hannah Hidalgo recorded 24 points, six rebounds and four steals to help the Fighting Irish clobber the Dukes at South Bend, Ind.
Freshman Kate Koval had 14 points, 16 rebounds and six blocked shots for her first career double-double for Notre Dame (3-0). Olivia Miles added 16 points, eight assists and six rebounds for the Irish.
Kseniia Kozlova had 14 points and 10 rebounds for James Madison (3-1). The Dukes shot just 21.7 percent from the field.
No. 11 Maryland 84, Syracuse 73
Kaylene Smikle scored 22 points for her third straight 20-point outing to help the Terrapins knock off the Orange at Syracuse, N.Y.
Allie Kubek added 16 points for Maryland (4-0). The Terrapins created distance by outscoring Syracuse 28-11 in the second quarter.
Georgia Woolley had 17 points and Kyra Wood added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Orange (1-2).
No. 22 Alabama 68, Norfolk State 58
Sarah Ashlee Barker registered 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists to help the Crimson Tide defeat the Spartans at Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Aaliyah Nye added 15 points for Alabama (4-0). Essence Cody had 14 points, Zaay Green added 12 and Karly Weathers collected 11 rebounds.
Kierra Wheeler scored 19 points for Norfolk State (3-1). Diamond Johnson and Niya Fields had 14 points apiece.
