Mandatory Credit: Jesse Johnson-Imagn Images Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards was fined a third time this month, this one costing him $100,000 for using profanity during a postgame interview, the NBA announced Sunday.
Edwards' latest fine came in wake of his on-court interview following Minnesota's 113-112 win at Houston on Friday. The league said in a release that the $100,000 penalty is partly because of Edwards' past offenses.
The 23-year-old was fined $25,000 on Dec. 9 for using profane language during an interview after the Timberwolves won at Golden State 107-90 three days earlier.
Edwards lost another $75,000 two weeks later when he used profanity while criticizing the officiating from a 113-103 home loss to the Warriors on Dec. 21.
He also cost himself $35,000 when he made an obscene gesture on the court during Minnesota's 130-126 road win over Sacramento on Nov. 15.
A two-time All-Star, Edwards leads the Timberwolves (16-14) with 25.3 points per game this season to go along with 5.5 rebounds and four assists per contest.
