Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-Imagn Images With three weeks left in the regular season, the WNBA already has broken the single-season attendance record by surpassing 2.5 million fans, the league confirmed Thursday.
The total attendance so far of 2,501,609 was set with 13 teams playing a total of 226 games through Wednesday.
The previous record of 2,364,736 fans was established in 2002 with 16 teams playing a total of 256 games.
Although the league's spike in popularity largely has been attributed to the arrival of Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark in 2024, it's worth noting that Clark has missed 22 games due to injuries this season.
