William Contreras helps Brewers stymie Cubs

Mandatory Credit: David Banks-USA TODAY Sports William Contreras delivered a go-ahead RBI double in the ninth inning and the visiting Milwaukee Brewers held on for a 3-2 win against the Chicago Cubs in the rubber game of their three-game series on Wednesday afternoon.
Jackson Chourio had two hits and an RBI for the Brewers, who have won five of their past six games.
Rob Zastryzny came out of the bullpen to make his third start of the season for Milwaukee and the left-hander allowed one run and four hits in one-plus innings.
Bryse Wilson allowed one run over four innings of relief, and Jakob Junis (3-0) followed with three scoreless innings for the Brewers, who combined for five runs in the series. Joel Payamps struck out two in the ninth for his fifth save.
Cubs left-hander Justin Steele allowed two runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out four and walked three.
Seiya Suzuki doubled, homered and scored twice for Chicago, which is 2-4 coming out of the break.
Hector Neris (8-3) started the ninth for the Cubs and allowed a leadoff single to No. 9 hitter Blake Perkins. After getting the next batter out, Contreras doubled into the left-center field gap to score Perkins from first and move Milwaukee ahead 3-2.
The Brewers loaded the bases in the first inning on two walks and an infield single. Chourio then singled up the middle to give Milwaukee a 1-0 lead. Steele avoided further damage by getting a force out at the plate and a strike out.
The Cubs answered with a two-out rally in their half of the first. Suzuki doubled and then scored on a single by Ian Happ to tie it 1-1.
Suzuki took Wilson deep over the fence in left-center field with one out in the third to give Chicago a 2-1 lead.
Willy Adames and Chourio led off the sixth with singles and Steele exited after striking out Garrett Mitchell. Tyson Miller came in and surrendered a soft single to center by Jake Bauers to load the bases.
Brice Turang then lined a pinch-hit single through the right side on a full-count sweeper to tie it 2-2.
Brewers outfielder and 2018 National League MVP Christian Yelich was placed on the 10-day injured list before the game because of lower back inflammation.
