Vernon Adams Jr. Says He'll Play After Taking Cheap Shot To The Head
Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. told media he’ll play this Saturday against Michigan State despite being dazed by a shot to the head that knocked him from this past weekend’s game against Eastern Washington.

Oregon coach Mark Helfrich was asked if Adams’ return to the sideline was evidence that he was not concussed and if he thought it was a cheap shot.
“I will say you’re a smart man on your first question,” said Helfrich, who declined to answer the second part of the question.
That’s a curious way of not answering the question, especially given how disoriented Adams appeared to be after taking the hit. If the goal was to convince the media Adams didn’t suffer a concussion, it worked.
Eastern Washington’s John Kreifels earned an ejection for the hit on his former teammate; reader Travis writes in to note an EWU player also may have suffered a concussion on the play, given his condition seen here:
