Head coach Kyle Whittingham announced Ludwig's resignation Sunday night.
"Andy is the consummate professional and we want to thank him for his complete dedication to our program during his 10 total seasons with us," Whittingham said in a statement. "Coach Ludwig has been instrumental to our success here at Utah and personally, I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for Andy as both a coach and a person."
Whittingham on Monday announced that Mike Bajakian will be the interim offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach moving forward. Bajakian joined the Utes as an offensive analyst this past offseason.
Ludwig, 60, had been the OC since 2019, his second stint in the role at Utah (also 2005-08).
The Utes slipped to 95th in the nation in scoring following Saturday's 13-7 home loss to TCU.
Utah is playing without top quarterback Cameron Rising, who was shut down with a hand injury after three games.
The Utes (4-3, 1-3 Big 12) visit Houston (2-5, 1-3) on Saturday.
