Head coach Kyle Whittingham announced Ludwig's resignation Sunday night.
"Andy is the consummate professional and we want to thank him for his complete dedication to our program during his 10 total seasons with us," Whittingham said in a statement. "Coach Ludwig has been instrumental to our success here at Utah and personally, I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for Andy as both a coach and a person."
Whittingham did not immediately name a replacement.
Ludwig had been the OC since 2019, his second stint in the role at Utah. He was also the OC from 2005-08.
Utah fell to 95th in the nation in scoring following Saturday's 13-7 loss to TCU.
Utah played without No. 1 quarterback Cameron Rising in 2023 and he was shut down again this season with a hand injury sustained in Week 2.
Utah (4-3, 1-3 Big 12) plays at Houston this week.
