Today In The Premiership...
This image was lost some time after publication. • Wigan 0-4 Liverpool. In Liverpool's game against Wigan Athletic today, Craig Bellamy struck twice. Oddly enough, he was accused of doing that very same thing during the week. Bellamy was charged with assaulting two women in a Cardiff nightclub, and was cleared of the charges earlier in the week. So he took his assault to the pitch, scoring twice for Liverpool in their 4-0 rogering of Wigan.
• Arsenal 3-0 Tottenham. Gilberto Silva scored on two penalty kicks (both on calls that Tottenham didn't particularly like), one in each half, to help Arsenal lay a beating on Tottenham in the north London derby. Even considering the bad calls, Spurs were never really in the game. The win puts Arsenal in third place in the league, tied with Portsmouth in points, but with a game in hand. They're a mere 31 (soon to be 16) points back of Manchester United at the top.
• Middlesbrough 1-2 Manchester United. The game hasn't quite gone final, but Manchester United is leading by a goal with about 20 minutes left to play. Second place Chelsea's match against Newcastle has been postponed until December 13th, so a Manchester win would put Chelsea six points back, with one game in hand.
• And in FA Cup games today, Hereford scored a major upset victory over Port Vale, beating them 4-0. And Wrexham ('n Effect) shook their rumps against Scunthorpe, getting a 2-0 win.
