This Baseball Trick Play Wasn't Completely Legal, But It Worked
Was this trick play probably a balk? Yes. But it wasn't called, so let's enjoy it.
Beal City (Mich.) had successfully executed the fake botched pickoff play two times earlier this season, according to their coach. Last Saturday, they ended the sixth inning against Muskegon Catholic Central (Mich.) by pulling off their third. Pitcher Ty Rollin really sold it by throwing his hat into the dirt as if the throw had gone into the outfield. Unfortunately for the Muskegon player on second, Rollin still had the ball.
Beal City ended up winning in ten innings. "No Surprises" over the highlight is an obnoxious but nice touch.
