The Warriors Returned To The Court To Thank Their Fans
If there is a silver lining in being eliminated at home, it requires a team like Golden State to take advantage of it. After their loss to the Spurs, the Warriors came back out on the court to high-five their fans, and Steph Curry took the mic to thank the crowd.
The Warriors made it further, and gave the Spurs more to handle than they or their fans had any right to expect. They battled injuries. The core is young, and around for a while. Nothing but good vibes about Golden State's second-round exit, because it was a success—six games into the conference semis is the team's longest run in 36 years—and because it should be a harbinger of greater things.
"We've got the best fans in the business," coach Mark Jackson said. "It was an incredible moment for them to acknowledge what took place this year and also for my guys to acknowledge that we don't take these incredible fans for granted.
"It's been a great ride."
So, as an arena of yellow chanted "Warriors," and Jarrett Jack led a victory lap, it was one last chance for fans to lay eyes on this team. The Western Conference should probably pay attention too.
