The Injury History Of Everyone On The Field When Jake Locker Got Hurt
Four seconds into the play above, Jake Locker took an awkward double hit from Muhammad Wilkerson and Quinton Coples and had to be carted off the field with a hip injury. If anyone could sympathize, it was, well, everyone else on the field.
This graphic break downs the injury history of the 22 players involved in this play. Seven Eight, in black, have suffered a severe or season-ending injury at some point in their football career, ranging from Locker's broken thumb at Washington to Dawan Landry's spinal concussion with the Ravens. Fourteen other players have sustained reported injuries that caused them to miss practice or game action. At least 15 of these players have undergone surgery for a football-related injury.
These are just injuries that made it into the wires and the pre-draft player reports; there are almost certainly many more minor tweaks and strains. Ryan Fitzpatrick will start in the place of Locker next week and for the foreseeable future. His last major injuries came in 2011, when he played through broken ribs for half a season.
Updated to included David Harris's 2003 ACL tear.
