The Giants-Dodgers Brawl, From Andrew McCutchen's Perspective
credits: Ezra Shaw | source: Getty Yasiel Puig and the Giants brawled again on Tuesday. This time, it wasn’t Madison Bumgarner, but Nick Hundley who took offense to an unconscionably insignificant Puig “transgression.” Yasiel yelled “fuck” after fouling off a ball:
“He told me to stop complaining and get back in the box,” Puig said. “When I got in his face, he told me to get out of his face, so that’s when I got upset with him.
“I didn’t like that he was telling me what to do, and then he said some words to me in English that I really can’t repeat.”
That’s when all this started:
If you watch the above clip from 2:43 to 3:10, you’ll see that it takes Andrew McCutchen, starting in right field that day, a solid 20 seconds to get to the fracas, then, when he finally does get in the thick of it, he just kinda stands there and looks around. (He’s on the center-right at around 3:08.) Here’s his explanation as to why:
From the looks of it, there were still a few guys he could’ve held back had he chosen to. But I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one. Anyway, with the cuts and the tone of that video, it looks as if Andrew McCutchen is angling toward a career as a Vine star after he hangs up his cleats.
