The Cowboys Will Basically Pay Greg Hardy Per Game
Defensive lineman Greg Hardy, whose domestic abuse charges were dismissed in February after his accuser didn't show up to court, signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys today that can reach up to $13.1 million if all incentives are reached.
The Cowboys expect the NFL to suspend Hardy somewhere between four to six games next season, after he missed 15 games of last season while on the exempt list. Outside of the workout bonus, sack incentives, and base salary, most of Hardy's money will be paid in per game roster bonuses. Essentially, Dallas will pay him per week during the regular season:
If the NFL does suspend Hardy for the upcoming season, he won't be paid for the weeks he's suspended, since he won't be on the 53-man roster. That $13.1 million is most likely out of his reach.
