Stars edge Hurricanes to halt winless streak

Jason Robertson and Wyatt Johnston scored for the Stars, while Miro Heiskanen posted two assists. The Central Division-leading Stars seemed to regain some good vibes despite being limited to 16 shots on goal.
Sebastian Aho had Carolina's goal, but the team's four-game winning streak ended. Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 14 shots.
Robertson scored his 19th goal of the season on a strong effort in the first period. His initial shot was blocked, but he quickly regained control of the puck and put it into a mostly empty net for his first tally in six games.
That goal signaled the end of more than 160 consecutive minutes for Kochetkov without allowing a goal in his home arena.
Aho's team-high 22nd goal came on a breakaway just 2:16 into the second period. Aho, who has a three-game goals streak, scored the only Carolina goal two nights earlier in a 1-0 home victory against the Florida Panthers.
Johnston also got his 19th goal this season, breaking a second-period tie on an odd-man rush.
Dallas swept the season series from the Hurricanes. Oettinger also was the winning goalie earlier this month vs. Carolina.
Still, the Stars might be concerned about the number of scoring chances they've generated. They were charted with only 15 shots on goal in Thursday night's 4-1 defeat at Ottawa.
The game marked the NHL debut of Stars forward Logan Stankoven, a 20-year-old who had been leading the American Hockey League in points. He had two of Dallas' seven first-period shots on goal.
Center Tyler Seguin of the Stars missed a game for the first time this season because of an injury sustained two nights earlier.
