SS Tim Anderson announces retirement after 10 seasons

Former two-time All-Star shortstop Tim Anderson announced his retirement on Monday after 10 major league seasons, including eight with the Chicago White Sox.

The American League batting champion in 2019 when he hit .335, Anderson also earned a Silver Slugger honor in 2020. He was named an AL All-Star in 2021 and 2022.

The former first-round draft pick in 2013 played sparingly over the final two seasons of his career and was released by the Los Angeles Angels last season.

Anderson, 33, was a career .276 hitter with 98 home runs and 350 RBIs over 991 games for the White Sox (2016-23), Miami Marlins (2024) and Angels (2025).
