Seahawks Announce Russell Wilson Is Getting A Divorce

QB Russell Wilson has filed for divorce from his wife Ashton, according to a statement released today by the Seahawks:

"I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. Clearly, decisions like these don't come easy. Ashton and I respectfully ask for prayers, understanding and privacy during this difficult time. Moving forward, I will have no further comment on this personal matter."

So this is ... weird. Not the divorce, obviously, but the fact that the news was broken by the team. Which leads us to think Wilson's hoping to get out in front of something. Know more? Email us.
