Robert Griffin III Fined For His "Operation Patience" Shirt
Robert Griffin III did not play in Washington's Monday night preseason game, but he did take the field for warmups. Making reference to his lengthy and cautious rehab, he wore a shirt reading "Operation Patience." It'll cost him.
The that Griffin was fined $10,000 for "wearing unauthorized apparel"—a rule that applies to any appearance on gameday, including warmups. The report doesn't specify exactly what the offending piece of apparel was, but Griffin's an Adidas guy, and the NFL rules mandate Nike gear. And if you look at the Post photo halfway down this page, the Operation Patience shirt has an Adidas logo on the back.
It's Griffin's second fine for being so loyal to Adidas. In December he was docked $10,000 for covering up the Nike swoosh with a sharpie.
