Reuben Droughns Goes Up In Smoke
The former running back is under investigation for running a marijuana operation out of his spare bedrooms. More like Reuben Growns, am I right? Ugh, that was awful. More like Groans.
Droughns retired last year after somehow winning a Super Bowl with the Giants, but he makes his home in Centennial, Colorado. Something about being a mile high, I guess.
This being Colorado, medicinal marijuana is legal. And sure enough, that's his defense. While he doesn't have a medical marijuana card, his mother and brother do. But that still doesn't fly under federal law, and it was the feds that searched his house and found the indoor grow operation.
The DEA is reportedly not buying the medical marijuana defense, perhaps skeptical that a stiff neck suffered toward the end of last season qualifies for alternative treatment.
