Reports: The Detroit Lions Are Cleaning House
The Detroit Lions have a long history of sucking, but in recent seasons, the team broke tradition and tried winning. They were 11-5 last season, and came very close to making the second round of the playoffs. The Lions were supposed to build on that, but through eight games this season, they’re 1-7. Today, general manager Martin Mayhew and team president Tom Lewand took the fall for the disappointing performance.
The Lions are on their bye week, so this is as good a time as any to make changes:
The firings aren’t limited to Mayhew and Lewand:
Head coach Jim Caldwell, who’s halfway through his second season, is reportedly safe for now.
