Reports: Colin Cowherd To Leave ESPN, Join Fox Sports
Notable smegma man Colin Cowherd is ending his tenure at ESPN and apparently bringing his show to Fox Sports. (While a deal isn’t yet finalized, that seems like a formality.) The Big Lead’s Ryan Glasspiegel first reported the move.
According to TBL, Fox doesn’t have any concrete plans for Cowherd yet, but the loudmouth liked the idea of reuniting with president Jamie Horowitz, who worked with Cowherd on SportsNation and is best known as the godfather of ESPN’s “Embrace Debate” era.
Between this, deep cuts in news operations, and the hiring of former USA Today stooge Mark Pesavento, among other moves, it’s clear Fox has given up any pretense to being anything other than the sports network of choice for those seeking dogshit. Speaking of which, another recent Fox score, Clay Travis, was the first to congratulate Cowherd on the move:
With these two in place, Fox has everything it needs to form a sort of Suicide Squad of race-baiting hot-takers.
ESPN president John Skipper released a short statement on the departure:
We’ve enjoyed a mutually beneficial run with Colin for over a decade. He came to national prominence on ESPN with his unique perspective on sports and society. Endings also bring new beginnings, for ESPN and Colin, and we thank him and wish him the best.
