Reports: Cavaliers To Sign Crumbling Remains Of Derrick Rose
Photo Credit: Rob Carr/ [object Object] The Cavaliers’ sad dramatic mess of an offseason has some new action, with the team reportedly in the process of signing Derrick Rose to a one-year deal. (Reports indicate that he has, in fact, passed the physical.)
Last year was Rose’s best season in five years in terms of points (18.0) and minutes played (32.5) per game. But best season in five years is not an awfully high mark to cross for the point guard, given that nearly two whole seasons were lost due to injury and another two saw him as a deeply reduced version of his former MVP-self. And, uh, he still concluded last season with yet another season-ending knee injury. Now, apparently—with drama still swirling around Kyrie Irving’s reported request for a trade—the Cavs are taking a flyer on him.
In other news, Adam Silver went on the Rich Eisen Show this morning to say, “I feel bad for whatever’s going on in Cleveland.”
