Report: Vikings Won't Cut Adrian Peterson, Could Look To Trade Him
According to the New York Post's Bart Hubbuch, Vikings management will hold a conference call tonight to discuss what to do with Adrian Peterson in the short-term. It's a thorny question in the wake of the RB's indictment and booking on a felony count of child abuse, but the Vikings reportedly have some ideas:
That last seems kind of...optimistic? If further details emerge that make the most beloved Viking in recent history totally toxic in Minnesota, I can't see many GMs around the league being eager to take on that kind of negative attention.
GM Rick Spielman said before today's game that "all options are on the table." Those would apparently include letting Peterson play, deactivating him for games until his legal situation becomes clearer, or suspending him with pay and keeping him away from the team.
