Report: Neymar Would Try To Play If Brazil Made World Cup Final
Could Neymar play in the World Cup with a fractured vertebra? According to one report, if Brazil made the final, he'd attempt to.
Per a Google Translated article on globoesporte, the official TV broadcaster of the World Cup in Brazil, Neymar discussed a possible return with his family and doctors. The damaged vertebra is apparently one of the less harmful ones to injure, though it's presumably not good to crack any vertebrae.
More from the article (despite the iffy translation, you get the gist):
Neymar and his family are considering whether to authorize the execution of the plan if Brazil beat Germany in Belo Horizonte. The attacker would have to undergo a procedure to block pain in the fractured vertebra after knee region of the Colombian Zuñiga, in the quarterfinals. This would be done from Wednesday, the 10th would be performed injections of painkillers -. Calls infiltration - to isolate the area of the fracture and allow the athlete to recover movements.
Barcelona would surely appreciate the idea of Neymar jeopardizing his back for one more match.
There's even a visual of Neymar's injury in the report. Someone even took the time to get his hair onto the body:
Brazil still have to beat Germany on Tuesday for any of this to be remotely plausible, so we'll see.
