Mandatory Credit: Paul Rutherford-Imagn Images Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark's foray into golf will include another young superstar athlete in Nelly Korda, Golfweek reported on Wednesday.
Clark, the WNBA Rookie of the Year and All-WNBA first-team selection, had earlier this month committed to play in the pro-am competition at The Annika driven by Gainbridge on Nov. 13 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla.
A golf enthusiast, Clark will play nine holes with Korda, 26, the world's No. 1 player who brought a spotlight to the LPGA Tour this season with six wins, including five consecutive starts. Korda, a two-time winner of the Pelican, recently hurt her neck during practice and has withdrawn from two tournaments on the tour's Asia swing.
Clark already was slated to play in the 18-hole pro-am with World Golf Hall of Fame member Annika Sorenstam, the tournament host and a 10-time major winner.
"I love golf, so the opportunity to play in the pro-am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam's name on it is so exciting," Clark said in an Oct. 7 release.
Clark is a Gainbridge ambassador, and the day before the pro-am, she will serve as a panelist at the Women's Leadership Summit at site of the tournament, which is Nov. 14-17. Other ambassadors include Sorenstam and tennis legend Billie Jean King.
"Gainbridge is a leader in supporting women's sports, and that's clear through their commitment to me, this event, Billie Jean King, and Parity Week," Clark said in the release. "I'm looking forward to seeing all the LPGA players on the driving range, being part of the Women's Leadership Summit, and, of course, teeing it up in the pro-am with Annika."
Clark, 22, played in the pro-am in the John Deere Classic in July 2023 with PGA Tour players Zach Johnson and Ludvig Aberg.
