Report: Bucs Linebacker Kwon Alexander Could Face PED Suspension
Kwon Alexander, a rookie linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will reportedly face a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy, according to the . The length of Alexander’s suspension is four games because that’s the mandatory amount of time for all players on their first violation. From the report:
The Bucs are expected to receive a letter from the league office on Monday informing them of the suspension, which means Alexander will be allowed to play in today’s game against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field, the source said.
Alexander, a fourth-round draft pick out of LSU who has started all nine games this season, will have the option to appeal the suspension. A decision on whether to file such an appeal has not yet been made, the source said.
It is believed Alexander tested positive for a banned substance during training camp, the source said.
Earlier this year, Alexander had a massive game against the Falcons just days after his brother was shot and killed. Alexander is playing today for the Bucs against the Eagles, but if the suspension happens as reported, he’ll only be available for the last two games of the Bucs’ season.
