Report: Browns Give Up On Brock Osweiler Experiment
Photo: Jonathan Daniel/ [object Object] At the beginning of the NFL offseason, the Cleveland Browns acquired a second-round pick from the Texans in exchange for taking on bad QB Brock Osweiler and his $16 million salary. Cleveland drafted Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer in the second round of the NFL Draft, although the thinking was that they’d give Osweiler the job while Kizer studied up.
However, six months after acquiring him, the Browns have parted ways with Osweiler. Zac Jackson of The Athletic first reported the news, and Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport confirmed it shortly afterwards.
Osweiler is now a free agent, and the funniest way this saga ends is with him backing up Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian in Denver, the very same franchise that, luckily for them, lost a bidding war with Houston in 2016.
