Reds' Jonathan India agrees to two-year deal, avoids arbitration

India will reportedly receive $3.8 million this season and $5 million in 2025. He also can earn up to an additional $2.05 million in 2025 based on plate appearances and games started.
India, who earned $760,000 last season, requested $4 million in arbitration. Cincinnati filed at $3.2 million.
India, 27, batted .244 with 17 homers, 61 RBIs and 14 steals in 119 games last season. He injured his left foot in late July and missed all of August before returning Sept. 10.
In 2021, India was the National League Rookie of the Year after setting career highs of 21 homers, 69 RBIs and a .269 batting average.
Overall, he has a .255 average, 48 homers and 171 RBIs in 372 games over three seasons with the Reds.
