Rasheed Wallace On Flint Water Crisis: "It Looks Like A Third-World Country"
Screencap [object Object] The Flint water crisis has gotten less publicity as the year has gone on, but it’s still an ongoing disaster and criminal investigations of those responsible are still active. Former NBA star Rasheed Wallace, who won a championship with the Pistons, went up to Flint to deliver supplies and wrote an impassioned essay for the Players Tribune in which he said he was “sickened by the lack of help.” Wallace has been involved in aid work in Flint since February, when he drove a truckload of water from North Carolina to Michigan.
Tonight, he went on Kevin Garnett’s show Area 21 and spoke about the crisis. He made a point of noting that the state’s legislature has failed Flint residents and that the disaster is still affecting thousands of people’s lives. “If you knew and you still let it go on, dog, you gotta be held responsible for that,” he said of governor Rick Snyder.
As Sheed said, “We not finished.”
