Purdue Loses Isaac Haas For The Rest Of The NCAA Tournament

The Boilermakers announced the injury Friday evening, writing in a statement that Haas suffered the injury during a second-half fall in this afternoon’s 78-48 blowout win over Cal State Fullerton. He finished playing the game but post-game X-rays confirmed a fracture, bringing his season and Purdue career to a premature end.
Haas is part of a Boilermaker core that’s finished 81-23 over the past three seasons; this year’s team posted the best record since 2010, finishing 26-5 in the regular season and second in the Big Ten. Haas was never a full-game player given his absurd size and limited endurance, but whenever he was on the court, he demanded the full attention of opposing defenses. He twice led the Big Ten in points per 40 minutes. He was big, he was fun, and now, sadly, he’s gone before the end of his final tournament.
The seven-footer wraps his career having averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 0.9 blocks, and 12.5 “Holy shit” looks per game.
