Prosecutors: Hernandez's DNA Found On Shell Casing, Joint At Crime Scene
The Aaron Hernandez murder trial got underway yesterday, and prosecutors revealed two previously un-reported pieces of evidence while delivering opening statements.
According to the prosecution, a joint with Aaron Hernandez's DNA on it was found at the crime scene near Odin Lloyd's body. His DNA was also allegedly found on a bullet casing in the rental car that Hernandez, Carlos Ortiz, and Ernest Wallace were seen picking Lloyd up in just hours before Lloyd's death.
Prosecutor's showed surveillance footage capturing Lloyd getting into the rental car outside of his home, as well as images from Hernandez's home security cameras showing him, Ortiz, and Wallace returning to the house a few hours after having picked Lloyd up. In one image, Hernandez is carrying an object that prosecutors claim to be the gun that killed Lloyd. In his opening statement, Hernandez's defense attorney argued that the object could have been anything, including an iPad, iPhone, or remote.
