Pitt Beats Syracuse 76-61 Not In Basketball
Photo Credit: Justin Berl/ [object Object] Pittsburgh defeated Syracuse on Saturday by a score of 76-61, the highest-scoring FBS regulation game in history.
The game started off high-scoring but not ridiculously so, with Pittsburgh leading 35-21 at halftime. Things took off from there as Syracuse tried to mount a comeback, with a fourth quarter that featured 27 points for the Orange and 20 for Pitt.
Weirdly enough, in a game with more than 1,300 yards of combined total offense—668 for Syracuse and 644 for Pittsburgh—the winning quarterback completed just nine passes. The majority of Pitt’s work came from their running game, and QB Nathan Peterman was 9 of 18 with four of his passes going for touchdowns.
The final score looks a lot like last year’s Pitt-Syracuse game, if you mean last December’s Pitt-Syracuse basketball game. Meanwhile, Syracuse men’s basketball scored just 50 points in their loss to South Carolina today, and Pittsburgh men’s basketball had exactly 76 points in yesterday’s win over Morehead State.
