Phil Mickelson Found The Balcony On 17
Phil Mickelson made a remarkable run in his fourth round at the British Open today, stepping up to 17 at six-under for the day and just two strokes back of the leaders. It would have required a whole series of miracles for Mickelson to pull out a win—his first of any kind since the 2013 Open at Muirfield—but Mickelson’s tee shot on 17 removed any drama:
Someone at the Old Course Hotel is going to find a surprise when they step out for a smoke.
Mickelson would triple-bogey the hole, and finish the day three under. He’s in a tie for 29th at this moment. In all it was a pretty good tournament for Mickelson, and might’ve been something special if not for that one damned hole.
