Pat Summitt Hit A Hole-In-One Yesterday

Pat Summitt, the recently retired Lady Vols legend, has apparently been practicing her golf game with all that new found free time. She and her foursome, which included "former player Lisa Reagan, Billie Moore, who coached Summitt at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, and ESPN analyst Debbie Antonelli," were playing at a course just outside of Knoxville, Tennessee on the eve of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

The day was cruising along minding its own business until the foursome got to the 17th hole. Summitt apparently hit a blind tee shot 112 yards with a 7-iron and rolled it in on the par 3 hole. Except no one knew it was an ace until they got to the hole and couldn't find Summitt's ball.

"It was a little bit blind, but we knew it was a good shot," Antonelli said. "Of course, we didn't know it was that good. When we got up to the flag, we were looking behind the hole because we thought it had rolled past the cup. Then I walked up to the cup, looked down, and said, 'You're never going to believe this.' "

The shot is being referred to as Summitt's "first hole-in-one" as though it were either a long time coming or just one in a string that are sure to follow. I don't know—seems pretty cool on its own.
