Paolo Banchero, Magic outlast Hawks in overtime

Caleb Houstan added a career-high 25 points on seven triples for the Magic, who won their second straight game after a three-game losing skid. Jalen Suggs chipped in 16 points for Orlando, while Goga Bitadze poured in 11 points and 14 boards.
Trae Young led Atlanta's scoring with 31 points, followed by 24 points from Dejounte Murray. Bogdan Bogdanovic had 18 points for the Hawks, who have now lost their last two games. Saddiq Bey scored 16 and Jalen Johnson totaled 12 points and 11 rebounds.
After trailing by nine points at halftime, the Magic outscored Atlanta 34-18 in the third quarter and held an 85-78 lead entering the fourth.
With Atlanta down 102-98 with 1:20 remaining, Murray converted a three-point play to cut the deficit to one. Houstan responded with a corner triple to push the Orlando advantage back to four with 1:07 left.
Young followed with a layup on the ensuing play to cut the lead to two, and Bey's dunk tied the game with 18 seconds left.
Houstan then missed a three-pointer at the buzzer, sending the game to overtime.
Banchero scored Orlando's first six points of overtime before Bitadze's layup gave the Magic a 113-107 lead with 2:19 in overtime. Young followed with a triple ten seconds later.
Banchero's jumper extended the lead to five en route to the Orlando victory.
In the first half, Orlando jumped out to a 16-3 lead before Atlanta rallied to cut the Magic lead to just four after the first quarter.
Thanks to a 32-19 advantage in the second quarter, the Hawks entered the locker room holding a 60-51 halftime lead. Murray's 16 points paced Atlanta in the first half, and Young had 13 points. Banchero led the Magic with 15 points in the opening half.
The Southeast Division rivals will meet again on Jan. 17 in Atlanta.
