Orlando High-School Football Bullying Just Got Real
Darrion Denson, 15, played on Orlando's Dr. Phillips High School football team until September. That's when six students got misdemeanor charges for an locker-room attack to which Darrion's mother responded by driving her car onto the field.
Last night, Rena Denson was arrested on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. Afterwards, she ripped the state Attorney General's office and a coach's boys-getting-carried-away excuse. Here are a few details from immediately after the September incident...
"They threw him in the garbage can and they hit him repeatedly," [Rena] Denson said. "They broke his glasses because they threw two chairs at his head after he came out of the garbage can. He took his massive arm around my son's neck to choke him."
Police said they're investigating the attack that left Darrion Denson with a concussion and without his wallet and rosary.
"It was no hazing," the boy's father said. "It was a gang beating and robbery."
Here's a link to video of Rena real-talking to the press post-release.
