The Cyclones never trailed.
Joshua Jefferson added 14 points for Iowa State (23-8, 13-7 Big 12), who also got 11 from Deshon Jackson.
The Wildcats (15-16, 9-11 Big 12) said goodbye to three scholarship seniors. David N'Guessan led the Wildcats with 19 points, but Max Jones (who had 7 points) and Coleman Hawkins (4 points) combined for just 11 points. Dug McDaniel added 14 points for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats were unable to maintain the momentum they grabbed with a late run in the first half. They couldn't get closer than 6 points. Iowa State went on an 11-0 run to open up its biggest lead to that point at 51-34 with 12:03 left in the game.
The lead never dipped into single digits the rest of the game.
As they did in the first meeting with the Cyclones this season, the Wildcats struggled out of the gate, missing seven of their first eight shots. The Cyclones took advantage, pulling out to a 17-6 lead midway through the first half.
However, unlike the first meeting when K-State came roaring back for an 80-61 win, this time Iowa State maintained the lead throughout the game.
The Wildcats shot just 9 of 26 just from the field, including 2 of 14 from 3-point range, in the first half. They went just 6-for-10 from the charity stripe. Only an 8-0 run by Kansas State to close the half prevented Iowa State from taking more than a 34-26 lead at intermission.
The Cyclones were led in the first half by Jones with 10 points. N'Guessan also scored 10 first-half points to lead Kansas State.
