Nick Kyrgios Goes Through The Legs, Up And Over
Overuse the tweener and it loses its luster. Theoretically, anyway: this is not a problem any normal professional player has ever struggled with to date. But no professional tennis player has opted for the shot as often as Nick Kyrgios, who persistently and gratuitously shoehorns it into points and then promptly retweets his highlights within an hour after his matches end. He is truly the first Do-It-For-The-Gram player the sport has ever seen.
It’s decent enough content, of course, but also we get it. You can put the racket between your legs and put the ball back into play. You even did it twice in one point on Tuesday! For these hijinks to keep amusing the regular Kyrgios viewer, the degree of difficulty must be raised. So how about you try it ... right up at the net ... with your opponent at the net ... and as a perfect lob?
Okay yeah that’s still cool. Kyrgios defeated Kyle Edmund 7-6(3), 6-7(5), 6-3 in their second-round match at Queen’s Club.
