NFL Conditionally Reinstates Josh Gordon
Photo: Scott Cunningham/ [object Object] After several lengthy suspensions spanning multiple years, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been conditionally reinstated by the NFL, clearing the way for the former All-Pro to play his first games since December 2014.
Gordon can immediately begin attending meetings and work out with the Browns, and he’ll be allowed to practice starting on Monday, November 20. A week after that, the Browns can choose to give Gordon active status, which means his earliest possible return is in Week 13 against the Chargers.
Gordon, drafted in 2012, was first suspended by the NFL for two games in 2013 for violating its substance abuse policy. He was then suspended 10 games in 2014, then the entire season in 2015. Finally, following a four-game suspension for failing another drug test in 2016, he voluntarily entered a rehab facility in October of that year. The NFL denied his initial request for reinstatement last May.
