Milwaukee Police Reviewing Officers' Arrest, Tasing Of Sterling Brown; Will Release Body Camera Footage
Photo Credit: Tony Gutierrez/ [object Object] Milwaukee police announced on Monday that Bucks rookie Sterling Brown will not face any charges after being arrested for resisting arrest last week.
Brown allegedly parked across two handicap spots in the lot of a Milwaukee Walgreens on Thursday night. When he reportedly approached police officers who were writing him a ticket, they tased and arrested him. Six separate police crews were ultimately called to the scene.
The police department said that the officers’ response was being reviewed and that body camera footage would be publicly released:
“A command-level review of relevant reports and body camera footage indicate that Mr. Brown’s actions and behavior do not merit a criminal charge. Furthermore, the department is reviewing the police response including supervisory oversight. The matter has been referred to MPD Internal Affairs for investigation and at the completion of that investigation the findings will be made public and the body worn camera footage will be released.”
Brown—the younger brother of former NBA player Shannon Brown—reached his second-highest scoring total of the season last night, with 12 points against the Bulls.
