Michigan Ties Northwestern With Frantic Field Goal As Time Expires

Northwestern had this game in the bag and somehow this happened. Aside from what seemed like dozens of dropped interceptions, the defense had Devin Gardner stopped on fourth-and-four rush with under two minutes left but two defenders ran into each other and he slid away, getting a first down and extending the drive in the process. Then this happened.

On third-and-23 Michigan passed just off the sideline, staying in bounds, to the Northwestern 27 and with 10 seconds left the field goal unit scrambled onto the field and kicked a game-typing field goal.

Gardner promptly threw a touchdown on the first possession of overtime.
