Marlins Prospect Injures Teammate With Knife In Prank Gone Wrong

Photo: [object Object] The Class-A Greensboro Grasshoppers placed Miami Marlins outfield prospect Stone Garrett on the disabled list Saturday after 2015 first-round pick Josh Naylor injured him with a knife last week in a practical joke that went awry.
Garrett needed three stitches for a cut on his thumb. His timeline for recovery and the details of the prank aren’t known, but Marlins president Michael Hill told the Sun-Sentinel that Naylor felt bad about injuring his friend and roommate:
“Naylor has a reputation of being a bit of a prankster, but this one obviously went a little too far,” Hill said. “Obviously, he’s torn up about it. This is a good friend, his roommate. They came into pro ball together, so they’re good friends.
“Hopefully it’ll just be a short term and [Garrett] can get back healthy and return to form and continue on his career.”
“I don’t think you’ll see Josh Naylor goofing around with knives any more,” Hill said, which is reassuring.
