In a corresponding move, the team designated outfielder Canaan Smith-Njigba for assignment on Saturday.
Stoudt, 26, pitched three-plus seasons in the Mariners' organization before being traded July 30, 2022, as part of the deal that sent right-handed starter Luis Castillo to Seattle.
In 65 minor league games (59 starts), Stoudt posted a 19-17 record with a 4.75 ERA in 275 innings. He walked 119 batters against 247 strikeouts.
He made his major league debut on April 19, 2023, for the Reds and appeared in four games (two starts) with an 0-1 record 9.58 ERA. He gave up 11 runs on 16 hits in 10 1/3 innings, walking eight and striking out nine.
The Mariners claimed Smith-Njigba, 24, off waivers by Seattle on Feb. 7. He played in 15 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2023, hitting .125 and driving in five. In 105 games with Triple-A Indianapolis last season, he hit .280 with 15 home runs, 74 RBIs and 21 steals.
