Man Arrested At Girls J.V. Basketball Game: "I Regret Punching The Ref In The Face"
Photo Credit: Jamie Squire/ [object Object] A good apology does not waste time delicately circling around the point, a good apology shows remorse, a good apology does not redirect blame. An example of a good apology: “I regret punching the ref in the face. It was an emotional response. I shouldn’t have done it. I’m sorry.”
That’s what one Missouri man reportedly told a police officer after, you guessed it, punching a referee in the face during a girls junior varsity high school basketball game. Per the Kansas City Star, the man’s sister was playing. After several fans complained of bad calls, the referee reportedly told them to stop unless they wanted to relocate to the parking lot (those present differ on whether or not this was a threat), and the man responded by leaving the bleachers to deliver a “sucker-punch” after some other words were exchanged.
He was arrested on charges of assault and disorderly conduct.
