Madison Bumgarner's Curveball Made Hitters Look Dumb Last Night
Madison Bumgarner accomplished a very specific feat in last night's Game 1 NLCS win: The Giants lefty broke the record for most consecutive scoreless innings pitched with 26.2 after he exited the game against the Cardinals. It was entertaining to watch him work his way through the lineup, but obviously more fun to watch the strikeouts.
Bumgarner's two-strike curveball worked as the finisher for five of his seven Ks. When that pitch worked, it made Cardinals look silly:
The 25-year-old is the youngest and most reliable guy in the Giants' rotation right now. St. Louis will need to pick on San Francisco's other starters in order to do some damage.
