Lovely Act Of Kindness And Sportsmanship Marred By Bullcrap Football Game
Image via [object Object] /Twitter Tennessee and South Carolina played an ugly, low-wattage football game today, combining for one touchdown, six field goals, and a botched extra point, in a contest that didn’t even have the decency to include a couple goddamn turnovers. The Gamecocks came out on top after scoring 12 unanswered second-half points, and making a final goal-line stand as time expired.
The final series, which featured the Vols failing to find their way into the end-zone on four consecutive pass plays, left Tennessee freshman quarterback Jarrett Guarantano—after his first career start—understandably devastated, a development that did not go unnoticed by South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley:
That’s a nice moment, right there. Go forth, young men, and spread this spirit of empathy and generosity among the people. Also, man, would it kill you to put the ball in the end zone a couple times? Jeez.
