KT Rolster surge into World Championship grand final

Gen.G advanced in the League of Legends competition at the Esports World Cup on July 19, 2025

KT Rolster continued their unbeaten run with a 3-1 semifinal win against Gen.G Esports on Saturday at the $5 million League of Legends 2025 World Championship in Shanghai.

KT Rolster will face the winner of Sunday's semifinal between T1 and Top Esports in the Nov. 9 grand final in Chengdu, where the winning team will take home $1 million.

After finishing 3-0 in the Swiss Stage and sweeping CTBC Flying Oyster in the Knockout Stage quarterfinals, KT Rolster got a tough fight from Gen.G Esports.

KT Rolster opened with a 47-minute win on red, but Gen.G Esports leveled with a 39-minute win on blue. KT Rolster eliminated Gen.G Esports in third-fourth place ($400,000) with a 29-minute win on blue and a 35-minute win on red.

The all-South Korean KT Rolster lineup features match MVP Bo-sung "Bdd" Gwak along with Seung-min "PerfecT" Lee, U-chan "Cuzz" Mun, Dae-gil "deokdam" Seo and Yoon-su "Peter" Jeong.

The 17-team tourney began in Beijing with the Swiss Stage on Oct. 14. Eight teams reached the Knockout Stage in Shanghai, a single-elimination bracket in which all matches are best-of-five.
