Knicks waive C Alex Len, G Garrison Mathews and F Matt Ryan

Len is a 12-year NBA veteran who has spent time with the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers. He has career averages of 6.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game.
Last season, he appeared in 46 games for both the Kings and Lakers, making seven total starts.
Mathews is a six-year veteran, known for his shooting prowess. Last season, he averaged 7.5 points per game and shot 39 percent from deep for the Atlanta Hawks.
Ryan boasts a similar skill set to Mathews. He is a career 40.2 percent 3-point shooter. Ryan appeared in 19 games for the Knicks last season, averaging 1.5 points in a meager 3.6 minutes per contest.
Following the three transactions, veteran guard Landry Shamet is expected to make the opening night roster. The sharpshooter suited up in 50 games for the Knicks last season. He averaged 5.7 points per game and shot 39.7% from three.
